Meet the Teacher
Thelma Carr
Let me begin by expressing how happy I am to be the new 4th grade teacher at New Creek Primary! Some of you may have met me last year when I joined the staff at New Creek as a kindergarten teacher. Although I may be new to New Creek, I am not new to education. I have worked as a teacher, trainer, coordinator and mentor in education for over twenty five years. West Virginia has always been home to me, from growing up in the Southern Coal Fields of Boone County, to undergraduate work at WVU Tech and WVSU, and graduate work at WVU, University of Phoenix and SIU. In addition to my career, I am the mother of two grown sons and the grandmother of two. At one point in my life, the two roles combined when I had both of my sons in my 5th grade classroom and then again as their computer teacher in middle school.
